Feb 14th.

Mid- February and Valentines day is here. This is always a significant time for us wedding dress people. It is true many people do actually get engaged at this time. Funny how some things never change. In the Celtic-Pagan tradition The Spring Maiden known as Brigid (the bride) - Gwynhyver or Olwen becomes new again, Persephone returns from the Underworld and love is in the air !
This is always, for, me an exciting, creative and busy time of the year. Early spring wedding dresses being finished off Summer dresses on the way, and always new and inspiring dresses being commissioned, for anytime between this summer / Autumn through to Summer 2008 ! Well, a girl has to get her priorities right.
Themes for my brides this year definitely fall somewhere between Red-Carpet / backless / figure hugging - fishtail glamour and the perennial simplicity of all over Lace.I have been very brave recently and dip-dyed some rather expensive lace to get a gorgeous Tea-Rose Vintage colour, literally I believe I used P G tips !
I am looking foreword to starting on a few key samples that will be the beginning of a small range. I am busy filling my design book with ideas that have been brewing for many years, hopefully some unique pieces will be winging their way here soon.

Talking of Wings! I couldnlt resist including my Fairy watercolour paintings . I painted this puck-ish fairysome time ago and thought she was so lovely that she deserved to be in the spotlight! At the time I painted her an Art- Director that I showed them too thought that they looked too " Fashion-Plate" Well there' a surprise! Anyhow, here she is modelling the latest in Fairy Wings, twigs, flowers, berries and leaves. More Next Month
